Crawlzo gives serious teams dependable access to web data. Keeping that dependable for our customers, for the people the data is about, and for the source operators we draw from, takes using the Services responsibly. This Acceptable Use Policy spells out the boundaries: what’s prohibited, what’s your responsibility, and how we enforce the rules.

Purpose & scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) defines the rules for using Crawlzo’s web data platform, APIs, and services (the “Services”). It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses the Services: customers, their users, and anyone acting on their behalf.

Crawlzo exists to make web data infrastructure that serious teams can depend on. That depends on the Services being used responsibly, lawfully, and with respect for the operators and users of the sources from which data is collected. This AUP is how we keep the platform, and the open web it draws from, healthy.

Your responsibility

You represent and warrant that, for every target and instruction you submit: (a) you have the legal right to collect, process, and use the resulting data; (b) doing so complies with all applicable laws, including data-protection, intellectual-property, computer-misuse, and competition laws; and (c) your use does not breach a contract or third-party right that binds you.

You are responsible for the conduct of your users and anyone you allow to access the Services through your account. If you are unsure whether a use is permitted, ask us before proceeding. Contact support@crawlzo.com.

Prohibited purposes

You may not use the Services to:

  • violate any law, regulation, sanction, or court order, or facilitate anyone else in doing so;
  • infringe intellectual-property rights, misappropriate trade secrets, or circumvent technical protection measures you are not authorized to bypass;
  • harass, stalk, dox, defraud, or harm any person, or enable others to do so;
  • build profiles for discrimination prohibited by law, or for surveillance that violates human rights;
  • engage in market manipulation, insider activity, or other deceptive or unfair practices; or
  • create or distribute malware, or use the data to compromise the security of any system.

Prohibited data & targets

Without our prior written agreement, you may not direct the Services to:

  • collect special categories of personal data (such as health, biometric, genetic, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation) without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards;
  • target children or knowingly collect children’s personal data;
  • access content behind authentication, paywalls, or access controls that you are not authorized to use, or that requires credentials that are not yours to use;
  • target government, critical-infrastructure, or security systems in a manner that is unlawful or that risks harm;
  • collect data from sources where doing so is expressly prohibited by law or by a binding agreement that applies to you; or
  • aggregate personal data to re-identify individuals from anonymized datasets.

We may decline or stop any target or engagement we reasonably believe falls into these categories or otherwise creates legal or ethical risk.

Respect for source operators

Crawlzo is built to gather data without degrading the sources it draws from. You agree to use the Services in a way that is consistent with that goal. In particular, you may not use the Services to:

  • impose an unreasonable or disproportionate load on a source, or to conduct anything resembling a denial-of-service attack;
  • deliberately evade legitimate rate limits or abuse infrastructure in ways that harm a source’s operation; or
  • misrepresent the purpose of collection in a way that is deceptive or unlawful.

Crawlzo applies its own controls, including rate management and respect for reasonable operator signals, as part of operating the Services responsibly. These controls supplement, but do not replace, your own obligations.

Personal data & privacy

If your use of the Services involves personal data, you are the controller of that data and must have a valid legal basis to collect and process it, provide any required notices, and honor data-subject rights. Our processing on your behalf is governed by our Data Processing Addendum. You must not use the Services in a way that would cause Crawlzo to violate Data Protection Law, and you must implement appropriate safeguards, including minimization and, where relevant, redaction of personal data you do not need.

Platform & security integrity

You may not:

  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services, or breach security or authentication measures, except under an authorized disclosure program;
  • circumvent usage limits, quotas, or billing, or share credentials outside your organization;
  • interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services or the data of others; or
  • reverse engineer the Services or use them to build a competing product, except where the law expressly permits.

To report a security vulnerability, contact support@crawlzo.com. We welcome good-faith research and will not pursue researchers who act responsibly under our disclosure guidance.

Enforcement

We would rather talk than terminate. Where practical and appropriate, we will reach out to resolve a concern before taking action. But to protect the platform, our customers, and third parties, we may, with or without notice depending on severity, investigate suspected violations, throttle or suspend specific targets or requests, suspend or terminate accounts, remove or disable access to Output, and cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.

A violation of this AUP is a material breach of the Terms of Service. We are not liable for action taken in good-faith enforcement of this AUP, and such action does not relieve you of payment obligations for the period before suspension or termination.

Reporting abuse

If you believe the Services are being used in violation of this AUP, or that data about you was collected unlawfully through the Services, please report it to support@crawlzo.com. Include enough detail for us to investigate. We review every credible report and will take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP as the law, the platform, and the web evolve. Material changes take effect on the posted effective date, and your continued use of the Services after that date constitutes acceptance. We encourage you to review this AUP periodically.
